The first box of ten nesting compartments was installed in St Luke’s church tower Kinoulton in 2010. New refurbished eaves shielding the nesting site of the final village pair was undertaken the previous winter. Since then, over 250 swiftlets have flown south. This website tells that story and shares our understandings, methods of supporting swift conservation and involving others. Swifts are remarkable long-lived birds; they sleep on the wing and never land until they enter their special nesting place. All involved in our projects deeply appreciate these birds and endeavour to contribute in other ways to biodiversity in all its forms.
